Step - 1


DOWNLOAD AND INSTALL


FLOOLA is a free application that makes synchronizing your computer with your iPod very easy.
We start off by backing up all the tracks on your iPod. Af ff ter connecting your iPod to your PC, carry out the following steps:


Backing up Files


1. Go to 'My Computer' and double-click 'Removable Disk' to view the files.
2. On the Explorer, click 'Tools Folder Options…'.
3. Select 'Show hidden files and folders' in the 'Folder Options' dialog box. Click 'OK'.
4. Now copy the iPod_ Control folder on to your hard-drive.

5. Visit 'www.floola.com/modules/wiwimod'.
6. Click 'Download' on the top bar.
7. On the Download page, click the 'Windows' link.
8. Click the 'Floola For Windows 98 and above' on the next page.
9. Save the 'Floola-win.zip' file. Unzip the contents of the file.


Installing the Application


10. Make sure that your iPod is still connected to your system.
11. Double-click the 'Floola. exe' file to begin the installation.
12. From the 'Generation' drop-down list, select the appropriate type of iPod.
13. Click 'OK' to check the 'iPod fwid'. Click 'OK' on the 'Preferences' dialog box to continue.
14. Although, the application suggests what type of iPod may be connected to the system, it is still a good practice to specify it yourself. Click 'Which Generation is my iPod?' on the Floola setup page.
15. You will be redirected to the 'Models' section of the 'iPod' page on 'Wikipedia. org'. Select the mode after referring to the list.
16. Click 'Save'.


STEP - 2


SYNCHRONIZING FLOOLA WITH YOUR IPOD


ONCE you have your iPod synchronized with Floola, the next step is to put the essential data on to it through Floola. To do so, carry out the following steps:


Adding Music Files




1. Clicik 'Item Add…'.
2. In the 'Add to iPod' dialog box, drag and drop the music file to the location where the arrow points. Check the 'Edit before adding' option.
3. Click 'Add'.
4. The 'Overview' tab displays basic information about the track along with the artwork.
5. Click the 'Info' tab and enter the song information.
6. Click the 'Lyrics' tab to add the song lyrics.




Adding Artwork to the Music Files


7. Go to 'Album Artwork…'
8. In the 'Album - ' dialog box, click the 'Browse' button to locate and load the artwork image file.
9. Click 'Save' to save the artwork for the song.


Adding Lyrics to the Music Files


1. Click 'Item Import Lyrics'.
2. In the 'Import Lyrics' dialog box, set the 'Source path' as '-' from the dropdown list.
3. Since our file is named 'Artist - Title', we have set the same option in the 'Lyric filename' dropdown list.
4. Drag and drop the text file to where the arrow points. Check the 'Edit before adding' option.
5. Click 'Import'. On the next dialog box, check the imported file and click 'OK'.
