EXCEL helps you create separate passwords for opening and editing files, but unlike Word, you cannot modify the macros settings from this option directly.

Here's how:
  • Click the 'Office' Button in Excel.
  • Click the 'Save As' option.
  • Click the 'Tools' option on the 'Save As' dialog box.
  • Click 'General Options' from the drop-down list.
  • Set the required passwords.
  • Check the 'Read-only recommended' option to make your file read only by default.
  • Click 'OK' to save the settings.
